Our four year courses offer the opportunity to study the full range of business subjects alongside the development of personal, computing and language skills. The course will enable students to take their place in a globalized business environment whether in the public or private sector. This demands an understanding of a range of cultural and social attributes in order to operate within the international marketplace. This marketplace puts increasing stress on the need for business to emphasise issues of sustainability and to develop sound environmental and ethical policies. Together with the academic disciplines students will have the opportunity to enhance their study skills, study in English and familiarise themselves with English business terms as well as become proficient in the use of IT in a business context. A unique aspect of the courses is that there will be two separate opportunities to work in business, initially in industry and secondly within the community with practice at presenting both business and organisational reports. In the final year students will be able to specialise in one area of business of particular interest to them through presentation of a dissertation that requires development of researching skills and enables each student to demonstrate their organisational ability and self-reliance on meeting deadlines so that they graduate with the prospects of taking up a business role in a wide range of business and industries. Students will be encouraged to develop their IT and study skills through consulting online sources and through studying some aspects of the curriculum using E-learning and distance learning techniques. Academic credits for the course build up over the 4 years of study with the final year counting most credits towards the degree. Whilst not all modules have a credit rating all must be completed in order to qualify for a degree award.
