I, Prof. Dr. Khwaja Zafar Ahmed, a Ph.D in Pharmacology from University of Nottingham, England, United Kingdom, joined as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology Al-Fateh, Medical University, Tripoli, (Libya) and then worked as Professor and Director of Pharmaceutical Services, King Fahad University Hospital, Al-Baha, (Saudi Arabia). Coming Back Pakistan from abroad, joined Hamdard University, Karachi, as a Professor of Pharmacology. Then served as a Founding Dean and established Ziauddin College of Pharmacy, Ziauddin University, Karachi. Later on, joined as a Principal, College of Pharmacy, Govt. College University, Faisalabad, and then worked as a Chairman, Department of Pharmacology and Coordinator/ Supervisory Officer for the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Govt. College University, Faisalabad, which I had established, upgraded the standards and re-organized it as per Pharmacy Council of Pakistan policies and procedures. Served as a Founding Dean, School of Pharmacy, Barret Hodgson Int. Univ. At present working as a Dean/Incharge/Professor of Pharmacology, Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi. I have served in different educational and professional institutes of Libya, England, Saudi Arabia & Pakistan. I am a Member of various academic and professional bodies such as: a) Registered Pharmacist from Pharmacy Council of Pakistan dated 2 nd Oct 1976. b) Member of Pakistan Pharmacological Society dated January 1988. c) Fellow of Royal Society of Health, England, UK dated 31 st Mar 1990. d) Saudi Council for Health Specialties dated 19 th Dec 2000. e) HEC approved Supervisor dated 15 th June 2012 I have served in various organizations, such as: a) Ministry of Health, Govt. of Pakistan for evaluation/ expert opinion for registration of drugs under Drug Act 1976. b) Member of National Curriculum Revision Committee to Finalize Curriculum Pharm.D Program, which was held at HEC Regional Centre, Lahore, dated 2 nd March 2011. c) Consultant to National Testing Services Pakistan dated 2 nd Feb, 2011 and now selected as a “Peer Reviewer of MCQ in Pharmacy\” Dated: 01 th Dec 2014. d) Appointed as an expert for Charter Inspection & Evaluation Committee (CIEC) in the province of Sind, dated: 13 th Feb 2017 I have also organized various symposiums, seminars, workshops and conferences. I have supervised many Ph.D and M.Phil Thesis at Ziauddin University, Karachi, and continuing the same at GC University, Faisalabad. I have also reviewed and supervised various papers/ thesis and have attended various National and International Conferences. My Research Articles are a valuable contribution the area of specialization. Have worked as an Anchor and hosted TV Program (PHARMAWATCH) related with the field of Pharmacy profession awareness and on current Public Health issues on Health TV and also provides expert opinion as Guest on various International Media and TV Channels. Received Excellence Award by the Governor of Punjab dated 24 th Sep, 2014 & Pride of Pharmacy Award presented by the Governor of Sindh on the Golden Jubilee of Pharmacy Education dated November, 2014.
