BSc Electrical Engineering Technology

BSc Electrical Engineering Technology

Introduction

The Department of Electrical Technology (DET) is one of the department at FEPS, established in 2019, as a place for imparting quality education and training.
Electrical Technology (ET) Program started in 2019, is the main Technology Program of the DET. In ET program, there are qualified faculty members having foreign and reputed national level degrees along with industrial experiences. Some ET faculty members have been working on research and development funded projects by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, IGNITE, Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and Nazeer Hussain University.
ET program is trying to bridge the gap between industry and academia through different forums, by involving the industrials experts in Industrial Advisory Committee (IAC).
ET students are part and involved in, IEEE-NHU student branch activities, and they have presented their Projects at different forums like Nazeer Hussain University Project Exhibition Competition, IEEE (USA) NHU. Not only academic but in co-curricular and extracurricular activities students also participated like Sports activities organized by NHU.

Program’s Vision:

To provide quality education and applied research in Electrical Engineering Technology and Allied Sciences in order to prepare future leaders for national and global work environments.

Program’s Mission:

To provide the technical skills for preparation of electrical drawings, layout, testing, installation, maintenance and equipment repair in the field of Electrical Technology.
Graduates are able to demonstrate the applications of mathematics, physics and chemistry to achieve targets of quality control.

Program Educational Objectives

Electrical Engineering Technology program’s graduates should have following skills after gaining five years of professional experience:

PEO_1: Take an interdisciplinary and integrative approach to address and solve engineering technology issues in broad societal contexts.

PEO_2: Have the intellectual independence and leadership skills to critically evaluate information and to take creative course of action.

PEO_3: Practice the habits of life-long learning, necessary for a good human being and a sound Professional.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Electrical Engineering Technology program has following PLOs which every student should successfully achieve to complete his/her graduation:

PLO_1 Engineering Technology Knowledge: An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, Engineering Technology fundamentals and Engineering Technology specialization to defined and applied Engineering Technology procedures, processes, systems or methodologies.

PLO_2 Problem Analysis: An ability to Identify, formulate, research literature and analyze broadly-defined Engineering Technology problems reaching substantiated conclusions using analytical tools appropriate to the discipline or area of specialization.

PLO_3 Design/Development of Solutions: An ability to design solutions for broadly- defined Engineering Technology problems and contribute to the design of systems, components or processes to meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and
environmental considerations.

PLO_4 Investigation: An ability to conduct investigations of broadly-defined problems; locate, search and select relevant data from codes, data bases and literature, design and conduct experiments to provide valid conclusions.

PLO_5 Modern Tool Usage: An ability to Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern technology and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to broadly-defined Engineering Technology problems, with an understanding of the limitations.

PLO_6 The Engineering Technologist and Society: An ability to demonstrate understanding of the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to Engineering Technology practice and solutions to broadly defined Engineering Technology problems.

PLO_7 Environment and Sustainability: An ability to understand and evaluate the sustainability and impact of Engineering Technology work in the solution of broadly defined Engineering Technology problems in societal and environmental contexts.

PLO_8 Ethics: Understand and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of Engineering Technology practice.
