The Nazeer Hussain University (NHU) is about to embark upon its learning and research mission, under the guidance of an internationally recognised team of eminent professionals. “There is no doubt that we will face challenges in 2018; we do every year. It is how we react and respond to those challenges that shapes a person and unites a community,”

I hope that we can work toward being a more communicative society this coming year. Human spirit and understanding of one other is not only God-given, but necessary to build a society that allows us to live among, and care for, each other with a sense of compassion. Possessing a deeper understanding for the differences we have in our cultures and professions will only make us stronger.

As Chancellor I want to refocus the university’s mission and vision, and lay out eight core values to guide the university into 2020 and beyond: Academic Excellence, Student Centered, Integrity, Innovation, Opportunity, Scholarship/Research, Diversity and Community. We will fulfill our commitment of providing quality education at reasonable price and will produce leaders for tomorrow to serve the nation.

The emerging global village is facing complex challenges including in the field of academics. The spectrum of these challenges requires individuals of versatile expertise, knowledge and dynamicity. Centrally located in the heart of the city, NHU is in an ideal position to offer its students an enriching unmatched experience elsewhere. Here at NHU, currently students are able to not only benefit from state-of- the-art academic facilities, but also celebrate the explosion of natural and cultural diversity. The learning experience is further enhanced by an integrated learning system to provide for a well-rounded education.

NHU continues to explore the potential present in this region and harnesses the economic, social, cultural and environmental resources for sustainable development and socioeconomic change that would benefit the whole nation. We are eager to expand and move far beyond the academic excellence. The academic endeavors at NHU continue to place at the forefront the economic and social development of its students and the nation as a whole. NHU appreciates and recognizes that the entire university society represents many different talents and expertise while the academicians hold the main responsibility for educational excellence. The drive to excellence requires the cumulative support and input of everyone on campus.
